ZRO

Concept: a crypto exchange for people who have never bought crypto. I designed the brand and built the site with Claude in one week.

The project

ZRO is a self-initiated concept. I tried to buy crypto and it made me feel stupid, so I designed the exchange I wished existed: not for traders, for everyone else.

I set the direction and every rule; Claude wrote the code. No Figma, no stock assets, no design tool in the loop. In one week that became a live website, a working app demo, 3D hero scenes in Three.js, animated SVG illustrations and a design system that documents every decision.

Every choice goes through one filter: could someone who has never heard of a blockchain use this without help? The name means zero, the starting point. The O carries a small cut at its corner, zero as an opening rather than an absence. One accent, Persian Blue, used only where it has to earn attention.

The brand

Four rules for everything.

  1. 01Zero complexity

Nothing on screen that doesn't need to be there. If it takes more than three taps, it gets redesigned.

  2. 02The anti-exchange

It doesn't look like a trading platform. It looks like a simple app where you buy things and watch them grow.

  3. 03Like a smart friend

Plain words, never talking down: "your money is on its way", not "withdrawal pending blockchain confirmation".

  4. 04Confident restraint

Dark, minimal, one accent colour. Attention earned through clarity, not noise.

ZRO, exploration

The story behind it: the why page, in my own words.

The system

Nine chapters, one source of truth.

The design system documents every decision: brand, logo, colour, type, spacing, icons, motion, components and illustrations.

Illustrations

Drawn from geometry, not a tool.

Each illustration is built from SVG primitives: paths, rectangles, circles and arcs. Precise, grid-aligned, one for every moment in the app.

Built with AI

One week

I defined the visual language, the construction rules and the intent. Claude executed the geometry, the maths and the animation. Every prompt was a brief, not a spec.
